A journal of places, projects, and the conditions in which the photographs emerged.
Seeing Puglia Through a Camera
Puglia is known for its whitewashed villages, dramatic coastline and centuries-old olive groves, but what interested me most wasn't simply the landscape. It was the rhythm of everyday life unfolding within it. This is not a travel guide or a list of hidden gems. It's a documentary photographer's perspective on observing Puglia through its people, streets and quiet moments.
How Surgery Influenced My Photography
Long before I owned a camera, surgery had already taught me how to observe. After years of working with endoscopic and laparoscopic cameras, photography became a natural extension of the way I saw the world. This is the story of how medicine, documentary photography and everyday life slowly became inseparable.
I didn’t plan to stop here.
A short stop in Matera turned into something else entirely. This piece reflects on structure, simplicity, and the quiet moment when a place like the Sassi di Matera makes you slow down and see differently, as a surgeon, and as a photographer.
Ostuni, somewhere in the white maze
A short journal entry about a narrow passage in Ostuni and the moment I decided to stop instead of walking past. It reflects how I tend to move away from obvious viewpoints and focus on smaller structures, light, and direction within a space. The text connects this way of seeing with a slower, more grounded approach to photography and daily life.
